Android Development
Abstract
Android is the fastest growing platform for mobile devices. It¹s an open software stack developed by Google, and by now available on a multitude of devices, from phones to tablets and even TV's. While Android programming is based on Java, there are some important philosophical differences and Android-specific constructs to consider.
This talk is an action-packed, hands-on presentation that takes you through the anatomy of an Android application. The samples touch on most major Android building blocks (Activities, Intents, Services, Broadcast Receivers, Content Providers) to illustrate the architecture of Android applications. At the same time, important development topics like tooling and testing will be covered.
You'll walk away from this presentation ready to build cool and engaging mobile applications, while leveraging your existing Java experience.
